Error description

  • The customization of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS 6.1
    should finish with the owner of files in the configuration
    directories as the owner of the environment. However some files
    are left having the owner as the userid that was used in
    customizing the product.
    These two files in particular had the userid of the customizer
    as the owner are
     <WAS_HOME>/properties/service/product/WebSphere/zWASPostInstall
    er.properties
     <WAS_HOME>/properties/service/product/WebSphere/service-level.p
    roperties

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server *
    *                 V7.0                                         *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The ownerships and permissions on *
    * the post installer related files are *
    * not consistent with those in the rest *
    * of the WebSphere configuration file *
    *                      system                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The BBO*HFSB (BBOWHFSB, BBOMHFSB, BBODHFSB, and BBOCHFSB)
    jobs currently invoke the post installer setup script,
    bbowpost.sh, after the scripts which set the ownerships
    and permissions on the WAS_HOME file system. The step
    which invokes bbowpost.sh needs to be moved prior to those
    steps, so that the files that it generates
    <WAS_HOME>/properties/service/product/WebSphere/zWASPostInstall
    er.properties

    <WAS_HOME>/properties/service/product/WebSphere/service-level.p
    roperties

    also get updated with the proper ownerships and permissions

Problem conclusion

  • The BBOWHFSB, BBOMHFSB, BBODHFS and BBOCHFSB jobs will be
    updated so that the step which invokes bbowpost.sh will
    be done prior to the steps which set ownerships and
    permissions.
