Error description

  • When attempting to enable debugRouting on a proxy server,
    users will see a NullPointerException with the following stack:

    A NullPointerException is generated when enabling debug routing
    in a WebSphere proxy server.  The exception's traceback
    indicates it occurs within VHostMatcherImpl.getURIMatcher.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this problem is to ensure that the object
    being de-referenced cannot be null by invoking the appropriate
    constructor for all cases.
    
    APAR PK82641 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.3 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
