PK69776: INLINE EDITING BUTTONS DO NOT FUNCTION USING THE FIREFOX BROWSER

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using WCM InLine Edit to create or edit content (editing
content on a web page using an Authoring Tool), you discover
that the the "Save" button and all other buttons do not
    function.
Websphere Content Manager (WCM) users who utilize inline editing
and have configured or deployed a custom theme are affected.
The issue has been reproduced using Firefox 2.0.0.x and
Firefox 3.0 (the latter which, at the time of writing, is not
currently supported for use with WCM) with either the Sun or
IBM JRE installed. The issue could not be reproduced on
Internet Explorer Version 6 or Version 7. The Javascript error
"clearMenuTimer is not defined" may also be present.

Local fix

  • To work around the issue, change the configuration to use the
    IBM default Portal theme
