Question

Where can you find the updates for the IBM WebSphere Application Server to install the IBM JDK 1.5 or 1.6 required for IBM Rational Team Concert 2.0?

Cause

If you are using Rational Team Concert with WebSphere Application Server and an IBM JDK, you must ensure that you have the minimum required service level of the Application Server and the JDK.

Rational Team Concert 2.0 Server requires a minimum of:

  • WebSphere Application Server Base Version 6.1.0.23 and IBM Java JDK 1.5 SR9 + special fixes (see special link below for this JDK download)

or
  • WebSphere Application Server Base Version 7.0.0.3 and IBM JDK 1.6 SR4 + special fixes (see special link below for this JDK download)

WARNING: At the time this document is written, we cannot confirm the newer JDK will contain the fixes Rational Team Concert needs.

If a newer JDK is available, verify with WebSphere Support that it contains the needed APAR (PK85942 for JDK 1.5 and PK86771 for JDK 1.6)
