Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All HATS Webfacing users that have coded a * * DDS for a screen that uses CSRPOS for a * * COBOL application that runs with the * * *CHGPOSSGN option. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When running a COBOL application in * * the WebFacing environment the cursor * * is not positioned correctly by the * * CSRPOS keyword if the COBOL program * * is compiled with the *CHGPOSSGN * * compile option. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** IBM WebFacing for the IBM i was written specifically to handle IBM i data formats. When COBOL applications are run with the *CHGPOSSGN option the application will format positive numbers in a IBM z (S/390) format. This will cause the WebFacing runtime to misinterpret the numeric value. When the numeric values are then processed for the CSRLOC DDS keyword the cursor will most likely not be positioned as expected.
Problem conclusion
A change was made in WebFacing so that the cursor will be correctly positioned when using the CSRLOC keyword. A check was added to ensure that even when numeric data is in the format presented by COBOL when *CHGPOSSGN is used the cursor position will still be correct.
