Error description
If DataPower creates a Via header for the backend server containing a "=" or "/" character the backend application may fail. Based on the Via header specs, "=" and "/" are not valid characters.
Local fix
Use DataPower's <dp:remove-http-request-header name="Via"/> function to remove the specific header.
Problem summary
Affected are customers using a Multi-Protocol Gateway for accessing a backend server. The "Via" header field DataPower sends to the backend may contain characters "/" or "=" which are forbidden characters for the "Via" header by RFC2616. The Multip-Protocol Gateway sends a pseudonym in the Via header which is a base64 encoded string and therefore may contain "/" or "=".
Problem conclusion
"/" and "=" are replaced by valid pseudonym characters "!" and "-" in the "Via" header. Fix is available in 3.7.3.16, 3.8.0.10, 3.8.1.9 and 3.8.2.1
