APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a Service Configuration Object is configured using 0.0.0.0 as
the IP Address with Self-Balancing enabled, the Appliance may
restart.

Local fix

  • Use the Virtual IP Address instead.

Problem summary

  • The Self-Balancing weight computation did not account for
services with "0.0.0.0"   IP Addresses. This could cause
DataPower to cycle. The fix correctly checks Virtual IP Address
and "0.0.0.0" for services.

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed in 3.8.0.9, 3.8.1.7 and higher releases.
