  • WebSphere DataPower Appliance

    Problem description :
    The request rule and the error rule both have the fetch action
    to fetch the same document in local filesystem.
    When the message come in the request rule and trigger the error
    rule. The document that fetched by the fetch action will become
    pending in expiry and cause the next message hang on the fetch
    action of request rule.
    
    Reproduce steps:
    1. setup a request rule and error rule, they both have a fetch
    action and fetch the same document in local filesystem.
    The request rule will be match action -> on-error action ->
    fetch action -> ...
    2. Sending a message and this message will trigger the error
    rule.
    3. Check the document status, the expiry of the document became
    pending.
    4. Sending the message again, the message will hand on fetch
    action.
    

Local fix

  • Workaround :
    Copy the fetching document into another name in local filesystem
    and setup the fetch action in request rule and error rule to
    fetch different files.
    

Problem summary

  • Corrected the message hang when the request rule and
    error rule fetch the same document using the fetch action.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix will be in 3.7.2.14, 3.7.3.13, 3.8.0.7, 3.8.1.5 &
    3.8.2.0
