IC70200: LOGGING IN TO THE WEBGUI SOMETIMES INADVERTENTLY STARTS AN XML-MGMT SESSION THAT DOES NOT TIME OUT.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When user looks at the XML-MGMT or WEB-MGMT, session looks like
  it's not timing out when logged out, and/or both xml-mgmt and
  web-mgmt sessions get started when one xml-mgmt session logs in
  with Internet Explorer.
  
  RECREATE:
  1. Logged in to WebGUI from firefox. I had just web-mgmt.
  
  2. Logged in to WebGUI from IE8. I had the old web-mgmt and a
     paired web-mgmt and xml-mgmt.
  
  3. Logged out of WebGUI from IE8. I had old web-mgmt and
     "hanging" xml-mgmt.
  
  4. Logged in to WebGUI from IE8 (from the returned to login
     pane). I had a new web-mgmt, but no new xml-mgmt.
  
  5. Opened a new IE8 session and logged in to WebGUI. I had old
     sessions, but a new paired web-mgmt and xml-mgmt.
  
  6. Logged out of WebGUI from all IE8 sessions. Had firefox
     web-mgmt and two "hanging" xml-mgmt.
  

Local fix

• WORK AROUND:
  
  To get rid of the "handing" xml-mgmt sessions. Clicked
  "Disconnect".
  
  
  Fixed in 3.8.0.6 and 3.8.1.3
  

Problem summary

• xml-mgmt sessions not expiring.
  

Problem conclusion

• An xml-mgmt session should not be created when logging into the
  webgui.  Fixed in 3.8.0.7, 3.8.1.5.
