Abstract
This document describes how to download and assemble IBM Rational Systems Developer, Version 7.0 by using the Passport Advantage Online Web site.

IBM Rational Systems Developer is a model-driven design and development tool that takes advantage of the full power of Eclipse and includes plug-ins that enable software architects and developers to create well-architected C/C++, Java, and CORBA-based applications that leverage UML 2.

Downloadable parts
The eAssembly for Rational Systems Developer, Version 7.0, for Windows and Linux contains the following software:
- Rational Rational Systems Developer, Version 7.0, for Windows and Linux
You must download all 2 parts for Rational Systems Developer and the Activation Kit. It is also recommended that you download the Quick Start Guide.
- Auxiliary disk (Installation Manager, Packaging Utility, and License Server (Linux only))
You should download these parts if you are deploying Rational Systems Developer in an enterprise environment.
- Rational ClearCase® LT, Version 7.0, for Windows and Linux
Space requirements
- To store the parts for Rational Systems Developer (not including the Auxiliary disk), you require approximately 1.2 GB of disk space. To extract the compressed files, you need an additional 1.5 GB of disk space.
- For the Auxiliary disk, you will need approximately 222 MB to store the compressed Windows file and 270 MB to store the extracted files. You will need approximately 305 MB to store the compressed Linux file and 370 MB to store the extracted files.
- To store all the additional parts for both Window and Linux and extract the compressed files, you will need approximately 4.1 GB of disk space.
To store only the additional optional parts required for Windows and extract the compressed files, you will need approximately 2.1 GB of disk space.
To store only the additional optional parts required for Linux and extract the compressed files, you will need approximately 2 GB of disk space.
Extracting the compressed files
Extract all compressed files into the same directory.
