Problem
IBM® InfoSphere™ DataStage®: Cannot import metadata using the via bridges option when top-level folder is selected as the destination for the metadata.
Symptom
One of the following messages is displayed:
- Unable to convert the following items: A folder \ does not exist
- Unable to convert the following items: A new Object has been specified with an invalid Folder
Cause
You should not be able to select the top-level folder, but this option is not disabled for importing using the via bridges option.
Resolving The Problem
Repeat the import via bridges operation but this time specify a valid destination folder in the Select Folders window. If necessary, create a new folder in the Select Folders window.
