PM71514: UNABLE TO ENTER RESTRICTION LIST ITEM OF GREATER THAN 1 CHARACTER FOR CERTAIN SYNTAX OBJECTS

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Occasionally, a Syntax object can get corrupted, and one of the
  symptoms is that restriction list items appear to be resitrcted
  to only 1 character.
  
  Additional symptoms are that when being compared to a
  non-corrupt version of the same type tree, the object is shown
  in red (to indicate differences exist) but no differences can be
  seen in the editor.
  

Local fix

  Circumvention: Change the object from a Syntax to a Text item.
  Then change the object from a Text item back to a Syntax which
  should resolve the corruption.

  Design Studio shows the type tree differences when there are not
  any visible differences in the Type Tree Differences window
  shown to the user.

Problem conclusion

• Fixed a problem with Design Studio where it now shows the type
  tree differences properly for Syntax items with Min/Max(Bytes)
  set and Type Tree Maker sets the default Bidirectional flags
  when importing the type tree from the type tree script if the
  Bidirectional tag is absent for text and number items.
