Error description
The WTX Email adapter using SMTP protocol (-PROTO INET option) continues to try to sending the email to all recipients after the Email adapter encounter a socket error. When there are many email recipients, each email recipient command (-TO option) takes about 2 minutes to time out, which may result in a very large map delay.
Local fix
WTXCQ - WTX00040534 JX / JX Circumvention: None
Problem summary
Users Affected: WebSphere Transformation Extender Email Adapter users that are sending email to multiple recipients via the SMTP protocol Problem Description: WTX Email Adapter takes a long time to complete when sending to multiple recipients and socket errors are encountered. Platforms Affected: All
Problem conclusion
If a SMTP Mail host forcefully resets a socket connection, the WTX Email adapter will cease any further attempts for sending to the remaining email recipients. Before this fix, the adapter would temporarily ignore the error and continue sending to any remaining recipients (e.g. RCPT TO:), which in turn could cause a large delay before the actual socket error was returned to the map.
