PM61227: WTX 64 BIT ODBC ADAPTER FAILS TO RETRIEVE DATA FOR NCHAR OR NVARCHAR COLUMNS IN A UNICODE SQL SERVER DATABASE

Error description

• When retrieving table data by means of a query using WTX 64bit
  on a UNIX platform with the ODBC adapter / ODBC drivers, the
  final column may be missing.  The issue seems to only occur
  with SQL Server UNICODE databases when the final column is
  defined as an nchar or nvarchar datatype.  Using the
  IANAAPPCODE feature of the ODBC drivers in the ODBC.ini does
  not resolve the issue, and in fact prevents initial connection.

  are selecting Unicode data from a nvarchar or nchar column in a
  SQL Server database.
  
  Problem Description:
  Unicode values are not properly retrieved from SQL Server nchar
  and nvarchar columns.

Problem conclusion

• The 64-bit ODBC Adapter can properly process UNICODE-based nchar
  and nvarchar types from a SQL Server database.  Before this fix,
  the data would get truncated.
