APAR status

Error description

  • When using the MS SQL Server ODBC driver, SQLSrv32.dll, the
output extracted from the database does not match the Unicode
data that was stored in an nchar field.  The DataDirect SQL
Server ODBC driver produces the expected output.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
WebSphere Transformation ODBC Adapter users that are employing
the native Microsoft SQL Server driver.  Users of the IBM
Branded SQL Server driver are not affected.

Problem Description:
The MS SQL Server ODBC driver cannot properly retrieve UNICODE
data from an nchar field.

Platforms Affected:
Windows

Problem conclusion

  • The WTX ODBC Adapter now processes Unicode data for the native
Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver in the same way as it currently
and successfully does for the IBM branded SQL Server driver.

Delivered in:
8.1.0.6, 8.2.0.6, 8.3.0.5, 8.4.0.1
