PM54359: THE WTX 8.4 LAUNCHER AGENT IS NOT ACCEPTING CONNECTIONS

Error description

  • On servers that have IPV6 installed, the WTX Launcher Agent
    admin screen does not display and the agent is not accepting
    connections.
    
    By default, the Launcher Agent administration utility can be
    accessed by going to:
    
    http://localhost:80/admin
    
    A problem loading page error will be displayed.
    
    Additionally when trying to send requests to the Launcher Agent,
    the requests do not appear to be received.  The launcher does
    not show any requests received and there are no errors.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
    WebSphere Transformation Extender Launcher Agent user that
    desires IPV4 communication on a platform that also enables IPV6
    communication.
    Problem Description:
    The Launcher Agent could not respond to HTTP ipv4 requests
    whenever an ipv6 protocol was installed on the host system.
    Platforms Affected:
    ALL
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Launcher Agent is now able to simultaneously communicate
    over both IPV6 and IPV4 TCP/IP protocols.  Before this fix, the
    Launcher Agent would require IPV6 communication, particularly
    if the ipv6 protocol was installed and enabled by default.
    With this fix, HTTP-based "admin" and other map requests can be
    submitted under both protocols.
