Error description

  • When using XPATH in z/OS with native XML data, XPATH always
    evalulates to NONE.  The following error in SYSOUT DD card is
    produced:
    
    Fatal Error.Occurred at file XML fragment, line 1, column 1.
    An exception occurred! Type:UTFDataFormatException,
     Message:invalid byte   (L) of a  -byte sequence.

Problem conclusion

  • Correct processing of parameters sent to XPATH in z/OS. First
    parameter can be UTF-8 or native, next 2 are native.
