APAR status

Error description

  • The ampersand character that is part of an xml entity number
such as þ (which represents the German umlaut "ü"
character) is incorrectly converted to an entity reference &
value in the XML output data.

The conversion of the ampersand character results in an invalid
value of ü (instead of the correct value of ü)
which causes the XML data to be invalid.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
WebSphere Transformation Extender customers using native schema
maps that have in the input files '&#' sequences

Problem Description:
Native schema maps having the sequence '&#' in the input files
were producing invalid output files that contained double
escaped '&' characters


Platforms Affected:
ALL

Problem conclusion

  • Made a change in the loop that checks for characters to be
escaped. If there are sequences '&#' then the '&' does not
have to be escaped.

8.3.0.5, 8.4.0.3
