APAR status

Error description

  • Native Schema type tree using UTF-8 as National Language instead
of Latin2 (ISO-8859-2) on z/OS.

Local fix

Circumvention:
1) Export the type tree.
2) Edit the resulting Type Tree Maker .mts file to change the
national language.
3) Import the type tree using the Type Tree Maker.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
WebSphere Transformation Extender customers on z/OS using native
schema data encoding

Problem Description:
On z/OS and using native schema type tree and input encoding not
UTF-8 data corruption may occur due to encoding errors. Schema
type tree always assumed UTF-8 for input encoding.

Platforms Affected:
OS_Batch(32 BITS)
z/USS (32 BITS)

Problem conclusion

  • On z/OS when using the native schema processor correctly
determine the encoding of the input file.
