Error description

  • When using the REFORMAT() function in a map transformation from
COBOL to XML, the Zoned Decimal fields are incorrectly divided
by 10 and the negative sign is dropped.

For example:

A COBOL Zoned Decimal value of -10.99 is transformed by the
REFORMAT() function to an XML value of 1.09 (divided by 10 with
no negative sign).

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
WebSphere Transformation Extender Design Studio users who use
REFORMAT on zoned numbers.

Problem Description:
The REFORMAT function is not handling zoned decimal numbers
correctly.

Platforms Affected:
ALL

Problem conclusion

  • Code was missing from REFORMAT to notice that the input number
was zoned.

8.2.0.6, 8.3.0.5
