Error description

  • 005010X223A2 837 Institutional claim containing Loops 2330A,
2330B, 2330C, 2330D, 2330E, 2330F, 2330G, 2330H and 2330I, when
compliance checked with HIPAA Pack 4.3.0.1, is incorrectly
rejected with IK3*NM1*120**4 in the 999 acknowledgement.

The following are two issues in the 999 IK3 segment information:

1) IK304 = 4, suggests the segment exceeds Maximum use which is
incorrect.

2) IK302 indicates the NM1 is segment position 120 in the
transaction.  Segment position is actually 118 for the NM1.

Problem conclusion

  • Structure file was incorrect and was only allowing up to 8 2330
NM1 loops.  Its been changed to 9.
Delivered in:
HCIP 4.3.2.0, HCIP 4.3.2.1
