Error description

  • XML Schema location contains EBCDIC data when run on ZOS.

When WTX returns an XML document (UTF-8) the schemalocation is
specified in EBCDIC. This causes the XML to be invalid.

Problem summary

WebSphere Transformation Extender customers using Native XML
parser on z/OS

Problem Description:
XML Schema hints location contains EBCDIC data in a UTF-8 XML
data file when run on z/OS.

Platforms Affected:
OS Batch(32bits)
z/USS(32bits)

Problem conclusion

  • Correct native schema parser on z/OS, when creating a XML file
with a hints data, insure hints data is created in character set
of the rest of the XML document. Previously the hints data would
be in EBCDIC in a UTF-8 file causing the UTF-8 file to be
invalid. Now the hints data is in same character set as the XML
file.
