WAS7017E and WAS7077E errors can occur when running bcgdbup.jacl with bcgwsadmin

Troubleshooting


Problem

Running bcgdbup.jacl with bcgwsadmin as recommended in WPG InfoCenter Administration Guide documentation under title: "Changing the database, database user, and password" can possibly cause error below: WASX7017E: Exception received while running file "/opt/wpg/scripts/bcgdbup.jacl"; exception information: com.ibm.ws.scripting.ScriptingException: WASX7077E: Incomplete config id: need closing parenthesis in ""

Cause

Should have used wsadmin instead of bcgwsadmin.

Environment

AIX, DB2, WPG v6.0 Fixpack 6

Resolving The Problem

For use with bcgdbup.jacl run wsadmin from /<wpg installed dir>/was/profiles/<wpg server>/bin

note: <wpg server> denotes bcgconsole, bcgreceiver, or bcgdocmgr. WSADMIN will need to be run for each of the WPG application servers for the appropriate changes being made.
