Alert - WebSphere Partner Gateway 6.1 Fix Pack 1

Flashes (Alerts)

Abstract

When installing WPG 6.1 Fix Pack 1 on a system, users should not select to update Common shared file system or, MAS components in WPG, as this can cause the script files in the /bin directory to become corrupt

Content

During the WPG 6.1 Fix Pack 1 install, the user is prompted to select the components which you wish to update ( Document Manager, Console, Receiver, common shared file system, and MAS), The boxes should already be selected for the components which are already installed for the WPG base system. There are no updates available for the Common Shared File system, MAS or Deployment Manager components at this time. If the Common Shared file system or MAS server component is selected during the Fix Pack install, it can cause the script files within the <WPG Install Dir>/bin directory to be overwritten and cause the path information to be lost. At this time IBM support is investigating the issue and will update this document with more details shortly. This issue has only been observed in AIX and Linux system, however other systems could also be affected.

The WPG Fix Pack 1 is safe to install on your systems, however we strongly asked that you do not select to update the Common Shared File system or MAS component during the Fix Pack 1 install. In the case you have only the MAS and or Deployment Manager installed on a server, there is no need to install WPG 6.1 Fix Pack 1.

If you have any questions regarding the WPG 6.1 Fix Pack 1 install on your system, please contact IBM support.
