Error description

• OpenJPA's are not handling parameter casting for function
  calls in SQL properly and also not handling many SQL language
  constructs, especially nested function calls. The current
  implementation only processes the last parameter in the
  function call plus it uses the wrong "cast to" type. The
  solution to this problem is to process every parameter with the
  "cast to" semantics, whenever it applies, at the point each
  parameter is processed (appendTo()), rather than process
  them in batch at the later time.

Problem conclusion

• OpenJPA has been corrected so that the Criteria API no longer
  inserts the incorrect type cast.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
  pack 8.5.0.2. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
