PM24322: SIP RESPONSE IN A SECURED ENVIRONMENT THROWS EXCEPTION

Error description

• Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) responses are going thru the
  SIP digest trust association interceptor (TAI). Since there is
  no way to authenticate responses using digest the TAI returns
  error and the response fails

  In a UAC and B2B scenario the SIP container is trying to
  authenticate responses and to look for the responder user name
  in WebSphere registries according to the To header value. Since
  the user is not found in the WebSphere registries an Exception
  is thrown.
  

Problem conclusion

• The SIP container is no longer trying to find the response user
  in WebSphere registries if the response is not authenticated,
  in such case the responder principal will be null as described
  in JSR289.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 1.0.0.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
