Error description
Using the following topology: WebSphere Application Server v7 and WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter The following error occurs: The MQ Client JMS channel does not automatically reconnect when it is restarted. This is preventing messages from being read from the queue. Users can observe the following error messages: CWSJY0003W: An exception has been delivered to the connections exception listener: 'Message : javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS1107: A problem with the connection has occurred. CWSJY0003W: An exception has been delivered to the connections exception listener: 'Message : javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS1025: failed to browse message. CWSJY0003W: An exception has been delivered to the connections exception listener: 'Message : javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS1107: A problem with the connection has occurred. Class : class javax.jms.JMSException The Activation Specification indicates it has successfully started with the message: CWSJY0003W: ActivationSpec 'MyActivationSpec<###>' reconnected successfully. But messages are not delivered to MDBs after reconnection. These errors are caused by the existence of multiple WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter instances per JVM.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ v6 and v7 Resource Adapter, which includes WebSphere Application Server V7 users, who make use of Activation Specifications. Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: The problem was caused by multiple instances of the WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter being present in the JVM. The reconnection algorithm assumed that only one Resource Adapter instance occurs in a Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
Problem conclusion
The reconnection logic has been updated to function correctly when multiple Resource Adapter instances are present in the same JVM. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v6.0 Platform Fix Pack 6.0.2.11 -------- -------------------- Windows U200326 AIX U839822 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U840685 HP-UX (Itanium) U840690 Solaris (SPARC) U840686 Solaris (x86-64) U840693 iSeries tbc_p600_0_2_11 Linux (x86) U840687 Linux (x86-64) U840692 Linux (zSeries) U840688 Linux (Power) U840689 Linux (s390x) U840691 v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.6 -------- -------------------- Windows U200328 AIX U840698 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U841555 HP-UX (Itanium) U841560 Solaris (SPARC) U841556 Solaris (x86-64) U841562 iSeries tbc_p700_0_1_6 Linux (x86) U841557 Linux (x86-64) U841561 Linux (zSeries) U841558 Linux (Power) U841559 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
