IZ85603: DESTINATION PROPERTY XMSC.TIME_TO_LIVE WHICH MAPS TO EXPIRY IS NOT PROCESSING CORRECTLY IN XMS .NET 2.0 TO WMQ V6 QUEUE MANAGER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An application using the IBM Message Service Client for .NET
  version 2.0 attempts to set TIME_TO_LIVE destination
  property. The property maps to the message expiry in the MQMD.
  Despite setting this property the default expiry is used
  when connecting to a WebSphere MQ V6 queue manager. The same
  works seamlessly when connecting to a WebSphere MQ V7 queue
  manager.

  infinite irrespective of the value set in the application.
  

Problem conclusion

• XMS .NET client product code is modified to update the message
  properties correctly before sending the message.
