IZ76756: INTERMITTENT EXCEPTIONS WITH REFERENCE TO RMLOADDICTIONARY IN WEBSPHERE MESSAGE BROKER.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A customer using WebSphere Message Broker v6.0 or V6.1 notices
  intermittent errors like "rmLoadDictionary and RM has thrown an
  unknown exception".
  
  This kind of exception with references to rmLoadDictionary is
  usually thrown due to some form of error while trying to load
  the message set from the broker database. In this scenario the
  errors appeared shortly after a restart which also indicates a
  loading error. After running a diagnostic fix, it was found
  that a database error (BIP2321) occurred at the time of error.
  
  The fix was supplied for this APAR will return a database
  connection failure as an error instead of an unknown error. In
  such cases, the code will retry the connection where as before
  it did not.

Problem conclusion

• WebSphere Message Broker was modified to retry the
  connection to the database in the event of a failure,
  instead of throwing the unknown error exception.
