Error description

  • Although the abends can possibly occur at any time, they are
    being hit primarily when deploying flows or with the first
    message that is processed when the broker starts up. They can
    also occur when stopping a flow. The abends occur when using
    shared variables.

    * additional instances or more than one *
    *                      input node.                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The problem can occur in a flow using shared variables when
    there are multiple instances of the flow or the flow has more
    than one input node. This can only happen if a node cannot
    connect to its data source when the first message passes
    through that node. The connection failure leads to run time
    ESQL objects being recreated that processing reinitialises the
    shared variables. It was also noted that messages could bypass
    a node when the node is generating the runtime objects.

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere Message Broker was modified so that shared variables
    are no longer reintialised and messages can no longer bypass
    the Compute node.
