IZ37666: INTERMITTENT EXECUTION GROUP STARTUP FAILURE

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Intermittent Execution Group startup failure - there is no
  indication of why it failed, just continuously repeating entries
  in the syslog saying that the execution group has shut down and
  none showing it has started.

  An Execution Group may fail to start with no indication of any
  error.In such cases the syslog can be seen to contain
  repeating BIP2060W messages reporting that "The broker has
  detected that the Execution Group ..... has shutdown.
  If the Broker is restarted the Execution Group starts
  successfully.
  

Problem conclusion

• During Execution Group startup WebSphere Message Broker uses
  cout and cerr to write messages containing the filenames into
  which stdout and stderr are about to be redirected. In some
  circumstances cout and cerr appear to fail causing the
  Execution Group process to end.
  WebSphere Message Broker has been modified to use printf
  instead of cout and cerr to write these messages.
