    fails.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users not following standard procedure when running the
clrmqbrk command to remove references to a related broker.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The clrmqbrk command is used to clear the brokers memory of a
neighbouring related broker (parent or child). We need to
clear the memory of the broker at each end of the relationship.
This means that the clrmqbrk command or an equivalent should be
issued to both the parent and the child broker.

Executing clrmqbrk command at only one end, that is either at
parent or child, might leave the broker topology in an
inconsistent state. When the clrmqbrk command is executed only
at the child end, the child broker fails to rejoin the broker
    topology and crashes.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is due to the incorrect state of the relationship
between the child and parent after executing clrmqbrk only
at the child end. When the child broker is trying to rejoin the
broker topology the parent returns TOPOLOGY error and sends an
exception report to the child broker. The child broker fails to
process this exception report and crashes. Appropriate code
changes has been done to process the exception report correctly.
