Error description

  • XMS is not moving the poison message to the BACKOUT queue when
the message is encountered and it exceeds the backout
threshold. This causes the IBM.XMS libraries to generate the
    following error:

    <Message>WCFCH0316E: A failure occurred while processing a
poison message...The message has been backed-out to the request
queue and the channel faulted, no further messages will be
    received.
The action requested in the report options for the message did
not complete successfully, the message or report could not be
delivered to the backout queue, reply queue, or dead letter
    queue.
Review the linked exceptions and trace for further details of
    why the
processing failed. Once the cause of the failure has been
    rectified,
the channel must be re-started to continue operation.</Message>

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
XMS.NET Applications while moving the poison messages to the
    backout queue throws NullReferenceException

Problem conclusion

  • While Parsing DstnUriParser parameter, the application throws
NullReferenceException. If there is a change in the destination
URI then only XMS should get the new URI Parser, otherwise it
shouldn't be doing. Though there is no change in the URI, XMS is
still trying to get the new URI Parser, which is Null, due to
which the exception is being thrown.
