Error description

  • When processing messages for an MDB listener a failure occurs
when the MDB listener is using a durable subscriber. The MQSUB
    call fails with MQRC_INVALID_SUBSCRIPTION:

lpiSPISubscribe Completion Code: MQCC_FAILED Reason: 2523

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of WebSphere MQ 701 or later may face the issue while
subscribing to a topic using an MDB listener.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
An internal routine involved in the processing of MQSUB API was
causing a check to be made on the subscription identity in some
situations. However, when lpiSDO_OPEN_DESTINATION is set a
subscription identity is not specified and as a result of this
check a subscription will fail with MQRC 2523
    MQRC_INVALID_SUBSCRIPTION.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ code has been changed so that the subscription
identity is not checked if a subscribe has set
    lpiSDO_OPEN_DESTINATION.
