APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A batch of messages is sent from an application to a queue
manager. Trace shows the messages arrive in the correct
order. However, when the messages are delivered, they are
out of sequence.

Example:
Message ID ending in 20111d74 arrives.
Followed by message ID ending in 20111d76.
When delivered, 20111d76 is delivered first.
Followed by the delivery of 20111d74.
.
This does not comply with the MQ 7.1 InfoCenter:
Configuring
Connecting applications using distributed queuing
WebSphere MQ distributed-messaging techniques
Channel message sequence numbering
Sequential retrieval of messages
.
This can be recreated by having more than one application
(browse and destructive get applications) waiting to get
message from the queue.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The problem occurred because the queue manager did not wake up
the destructive waiter because of a missing condition in the
waiter wakeup logic.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • WebSphere MQ waiter wakeup logic code has been modified to add
the missing condition.
