Error description
The TRACE OFF date will have incorrect date in the formatted MQ trace captured and formatted using AIX trace commands. Example: Trace is collected using the following AIX command: trace -j30D,30E -o trace.out The trace is formatted using this command: trcrpt -t /usr/mqm/lib/amqtrc.fmt trace.out > trace.fmt The TRACE OFF line will show incorrect date(e.g. 1970): 002 49.398488664 75.893241 TRACE OFF channel 0000 Thu Jan 1 09:00:00 1970
Local fix
Change the template file by doing the following: # diff /tmp/amqtrc.fmt /usr/mqm/lib/amqtrc.fmt 13c13 < "TRACE OFF" "channel" $chan TW --- > "TRACE OFF" "channel" $chan T4
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users using AIX trace facility to capture MQ trace Platforms affected: AIX **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: The problem occurred because of T4 used for TRACE OFF in the MQ AIX trace template. T4 would give problems in formatting traces gathered on 64-bit environment.
Problem conclusion
MQ trace template has been modified to use TW instead of T4.
