Error description

  • When an application connects to WebSphere MQ, it must access
    some shared resources which control whether or not tracing is
    active.  While accessing one of hese resources, WebSphere MQ 7.0
    fails and creates an FDC with these details:

Local fix

  • Upgrading to WebSphere MQ 7.1 will resolve the problem.
    Otherwise, a patch is required to allow the application to
    connect successfully to WebSphere MQ 7.0.

    The problem occurred because of incorrect arguments passed to
    semctl system call in MQ trace functions.
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ trace functions have been modified to call semctl system
    call with correct arguments.
