Error description

  • runmqras does not capture the QMstatus.ini, QM.ini and queue
manager logs for multi instance queue managers that use a non
    default data directory.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of runmqras with multi instance queue managers, or
queue managers created with the -md option

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When a queue manager is created with the -md option (for multi
instance support), then the mqs.ini or equivalent registry
contains a datapath value indicating where the qm.ini value is.
This was not being used by runmqras, instead it was incorrectly
defaulting the log and data paths. When it then tried to
collect the error logs and other files, the paths it was
attempting to use were invalid and hence this fails.

Problem conclusion

  • runmqras has been modified to correctly handle the scenario
where there is a qm.ini file pointed to by a datapath as a
result of it being created with a -md option. This results in
the correct location being used to locate the files for that
    queue manager.
