APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Some administrative properties listed in the WebSphere MQ
Resource Adapter wmq.jmsra.rar's META-INF/ra.xml file are not
associated with the appropriate object type.

For example, the putAsyncAllowed property is listed under
connection factories when it is actually a destination property.

Local fix

  • To set one of the misplaced properties on a JMS object, add the
arbitraryProperties property to the object definition. This
property accepts a comma-separated list of name="value" pairs,
    for example:
    .
      readAheadAllowed="1",putAsyncAllowed="1"

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of the v7.0 and v7.1 WebSphere MQ
    Resource Adapter.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The JEE Connector Architecture (JCA) outbound interfaces in the
WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter are described using a ra.xml file
within the resource adapter archive file. This file listed some
JMS destination properties as connection factory properties,
    such as putAsyncAllowed.

It was therefore not possible to set these properties on the
    destination objects.

Problem conclusion

  • The putAsyncAllowed and readAheadAllowed properties have been
added to the JMS destination parameters.

The JMS destination properties defined as connection factory
parameters have been left unchanged, as removing parameters may
cause application servers to report an error. Setting these
destination properties on the connection factory has no effect.

The connectionNameList property was added to the connection
    factory parameters.

In addition, it was observed that while the Activation
    Specifications permitted 'readAheadAllowed' and
'readAheadClosePolicy' to be set, this had no effect. This
    APAR also corrects this behavior.
