IT42516: SDCP RUN DOES NOT COMPLETE IF BLOCKING IN RUNMQSC CALL.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• SDCP run does not complete.
  
  It creates following output and then blocks:
  sdcp:: Retrieving Queue Manager object info
  sdcp:: runmqsc - Queue Manager Name QMGR
  

Local fix

• There is no local fix available.
  

Problem summary

• runmqsc may block if the queue manager is in an error state.
  This can be checked on the commandline.
  If runmqsc does not show a prompt, an sdcp will not complete.
  sdcp is not able to detect a runmqsc block and cannot cancel
  runmqsc.
  

Problem conclusion

• The sdcp script has been improved to support timeouts.
  A timeout option has been introduced:
  sdcp .... -t <timeout in seconds>
  The timeout controls following tools, started by runmqsc:
  - runmqsc
  - amqrfdm
  - dmpmqaut
  - dmpmqcfg
  - dmpmqmsg
