APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the IBM MQ appliance HA or DR queue manager synchronizes
the data from active node to standby or DR node node the writes
from live traffic might slower than normal, which will impact
    the overall queue manager performance.

Local fix

  • Make any HA/DR change during quiet period i.e. when the load is
    not high.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users using queue managers in HA/DR in MQ appliance

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When MQ appliance queue manager resynced data(i.e. synchronized
data from active node to standby due to the initial sync or a
catch-up sync following a period of disconnection) the resync
was getting priority over the live replication and this
negatively affected the overall queue manager performance.

Problem conclusion

  • MQ appliance code has been modified to balance the replication
network bandwidth between all the catch up sync data and any new
    writes.
