IT40792: PARTIAL REPOSITORY QUEUE MANAGERS ERRONEOUSLY REPORT AMQ9456 FORREMOTE QUEUE MANAGERS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• On partial repositories, AMQ9456 is expected to be reported with
  an object name when an update has not been received from the
  full repositories for a cluster object within an expected time
  (30 days).
  However the AMQ9456 is erroneously reported for queue manager
  objects which have not been used during this same period by
  applications connected to this partial repository and are
  legitimately expected to expire.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The problem was caused by a logic error in APAR IT35488 for IBM
  MQ that caused the reporting of AMQ9456 for all Queue Manager
  objects past their expiry time, without consideration of usage
  by applications.
  
  It is expected that objects that are not in use will cease
  receiving updates, and so reporting this condition with an
  AMQ9456 message is not required for objects that are no longer
  in use.
  

Problem conclusion

• IBM MQ has been modified to report AMQ9456 for the queue manager
  objects only if the object considered to be in use by
  applications connected to the partial repository.
  The issue described in this APAR has been addressed for IBM MQ
  on distributed platforms under APAR IT39751.
  This APAR provides the remediation of the same issue for IBM MQ
  on HPe NonStop.
