Error description

  • The DISPLAY CHSTATUS command is explicitly displaying a record
    for an INACTIVE channel.

This happens after the MQSC command 'STOP CHL(chlname)
STATUS(INACTIVE)' is applied to a sender channel in STOPPED
    state.

The expected behavior is to display the output as 'Channel
    status not found'.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A logic error within the stop-channel routines meant that the
channel status entry was not removed if an already stopped
channel was stopped with INACTIVE state. This then led the
DISPLAY CHSTATUS code to explicitly display a channel status
record, marked as having INACTIVE state.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ queue manager channel logic has been corrected to
remove the channel status entry from the table when the already
stopped channel is stopped with INACTIVE state.
