APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A channel configured with multiple addresses receives a stop
request while the channel is attempting to resolve the first
address. The channel goes into the "stopping" state but
continues to attempt to resolve the next address, which results
in the "stop" request never being completed.

Local fix

  • Use the runmqsc DISPLAY CHSTATUS([channelname]) command to check
that the channel has actually stopped.

If the channel status goes to 'STOPPING' but then goes to
'BINDING' on another address, reissue the STOP
    CHANNEL([channelname])
    command.
