APAR status

Error description

  • A queue manager has a queue protected with  Advanced Message
    Security(AMS) Message Channel Agent (MCA) interception. A client
    application that is trying to consume messages from the
    protected queue using a SVRCONN channel configured with SHARECNV
    greater than 1 receives one message and then repeated errors
    with Reason Code 2080(MQRC_TRUNCATED_MSG_FAILED) or no message
    and no error.
    

Local fix

  • Use SHARECNV=1 to workaround the problem

    Users using IBM MQ clients with SVRCONN channel(s) configured
    with SHARECNV greater than 1 and queue(s) protected with AMS MCA
    interception.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A defect in IBM MQ buffer size and consumer state management
    when processing an AMS message on the queue manager side caused
    the consume state to be left in suspended state incorrectly and
    this resulted in the queue manager not delivering messages to
    the waiting consumer.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ code has been modified to correctly set the consumer
    state when processing AMS
    messages.
