APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A user had edited the LogPath inside the qm.ini file, so that it
    did not have a '/' at the end.
    
    The user then issued the migmqlog command and it returned with
    the following output:
    
    AMQ7716I: migmqlog command has finished unsuccessfully.
    

Local fix

  • Add the trailing / to the LogPath in the qm.ini
    

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users of MQ using the migmqlog command on a distributed
    platform, where the LogPath inside the qm.ini file did not have
    a '/' at the end.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    If the LogPath inside the qm.ini file did not have a '/' at the
    end, then the migmqlog command failed with the error message:
    
    "AMQ7716I: migmqlog command has finished unsuccessfully"
    
    This is because there was an issue adding files to the LogPath
    so the system would end up with paths such as
    '/var/mqm/log/QMGRNAMEamqhlctl.lfh' instead of
    '/var/mqm/log/QMGRNAME/amqhlctl.lfh'
    

Problem conclusion

  • The migmqlog command now checks if the LogPath in qm.ini has a
    file separator '/' at the end, and if not then one will be added
    before adding files to that path.
