  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In some situations an MQ appliance operating in an HA group
could report an incorrect status when there are failures on both
nodes. In this case, the "status <qmgr>" command may report "HA
Status: Normal", when the status is in fact "HA Status: Resource
    Failed".

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The fix for APAR 'IT29783: Querying queue manager status may
cause performance overheads on MQ appliance' introduced a
possible problem in HA operation where an incorrect status could
be reported if there are failures on both nodes.

This issue was seen when the first appliance encountered a
low-severity failure, which would normally be handled internally
and not reported to the user, before the second appliance
encountered a severe failure, which should change the reported
status. A logic error meant that the low-severity failure
    suppressed reporting of subsequent failures.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been modified to correctly report the status when
there are failures on both MQ appliance nodes.
