Error description

  • When using the mqrc utility to convert the error logs from JSON
to TEXT or from TEXT to JSON, the timestamp is modified.
The expectation is that the timestamp should not be modified.

For example run the mqrc command (mqrc -i json -o text) to
    convert JSON logs to TEXT.

The JSON log timestamp is "T13:47".
    JSON: "ibm_datetime":"2020-08-28T13:47:48.514Z"

Whereas the TEXT log timestamp has been modified to "T21:47"
    TEXT: Time(2020-08-28T21:47:48.514Z)

The timestamp is also incorrectly modified while converting from
TEXT to JSON (mqrc -o json -i text).

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of MQ 9.1 who are converting error log records between
    text and JSON formats.

    Platforms affected:
Linux on x86, Linux on x86-64, Linux on S390, Linux on Power,
    Linux on zSeries

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A logic error within the mqrc utility caused the "text-to-json"
or "json-to-text" conversion function to incorrectly modify the
timestamp value contained within the error log entries being
    converted.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ code is modified such that the MQRC command does not
modify the timestamp when performing conversion between text and
    JSON error log formats.
