APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The MQ 9.2.0.0 Redistributable client for Linux is missing the
    'setmqenv' command which allows the user to setup the
    environment for a specific client installation.
    

Local fix

  • The crtmqenv utility is present within the affected package, and
    can be used to produce a list of variables appropriate for the
    environment, which can then be set or exported manually.

    This issue affects users who have obtained one of the following
    packages and wish to use the setmqenv utility to automatically
    configure the current environment to use the MQ client from this
    package:
    
      9.2.0.0-IBM-MQC-Redist-LinuxX64.tar.gz
      9.2.0.1-IBM-MQC-Redist-LinuxX64.tar.gz
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    Linux on x86-64

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    An omission in the client packaging logic meant that the
    setmqenv utility was not included.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The setmqenv utility is now included in the package.
