APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After implementing "Automatic Media Imaging", IMGSCHED(AUTO)
    IMGINTVL(720) IMGLOGLN(OFF), amqzmuc0 appears to go into a
loop after the IMGINTVL Time and the media recovery LSN does
    not move forward.

Local fix

  • recreate the queue manager

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users who delete permanent dynamic queues

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The deletion of the permanent dynamic queue had resulted in
incorrect records being written to the object catalog.

As a result, a record of the deleted permanent dynamic queue
name was present in the list of those queue names that ought to
    have media images recorded.

Because there was not really a queue of that name any more, the
code that was recording media images became confused, attempting
and failing forever to record the same thing, with no delay.
This, in turn, prevented the code moving onto the other queues
in the list, and so the media LSN did not move forwards.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been added to correct this situation when re-reading
the object catalog on queue manager startup. Accordingly the
code that records media images no longer has the problem that
    was noticed.
